9:10 AM CASE STUDY: Joint Plenary Session with Student Retention and Success: Supporting Student Success Across the Lifecycle at the University of Wollongong- Transition and Support
The University of Wollongong recognised that student access and transition is an important factor in student retention and success. To improve access, transition, retention and success a comprehensive range of mentoring, co-curricular and proactive student support activities have been made available to students with the aim of overcoming student barriers early and providing students with the information, skills and wrap around support for success. This Lifespan approach to student retention and success has been facilitated by the integration of learning analytics.
In this session David and Tracey will explain:
- The diverse challenges faced when adopting such an approach
- How learning analytics capabilities are closely linked to proactive support of atrisk students
- The process of assembling easy touse infrastructure which is making the technology more accessible to academics.
