Brisbane Grammar School is prioritizing improving the data literacy of staff, particularly in terms of using learning analytics to target where interventions in student learning can be best directed. The Deputy Headmaster, Steve Uscinski will share the school’s journey into the implementation and management of learning analytics in a 5-12 school. He will highlight the power of data visualization, the lessons learnt and the challenges involved in transforming the student and teacher experience.

In this session he will elicit insights into:

  • Investigating the Tableau platform and its power of visualization
  • The impact of capturing and representing data visually and how this can be used to improve student performance
  • Evaluating current learning analytics approaches and solutions for both teachers and students
  • Understanding and working with a broad spectrum of staff capacity
